Yesterday was a special day called Setsubun (the winter equinox) that's been appreciated by the Japanese for a long time!
On the day of Setsubun, we throw beans to ward away evil spirits and eat long sushi rolls to pray for happiness by facing towards a designated direction.
Of course, at Piece Hostel Kyoto, we prayed for our happiness by rolling sushi rolls with a lot of our guests!
Starting with the short lecture, we really enjoyed making them together!
For many of them, it was the first time to make sushi rolls, so they were all really serious!
