【Effective October 1st, 2018】Accommodation Tax
Kyoto City will be levying accommodation taxes on people who stay at hotels as of October 1st, 2018.
The tax rate is set at 200 yen per night per guest who pays a room charge of less than 20,000 yen per night.
The levy rises to 500 yen for those paying 20,000 yen to less than 50,000 yen, and to 1,000 yen for those paying 50,000 yen or more.
We regret to inform you that due to the above reasons, we will need to ask you to pay this tax fee.
The accommodation tax is not included in your confirmed rate, and will be charged additionally when you arrive for check-in.
